"T"

Maggie, over at Life With Boys has a fun game going on and I thought it would be fun to play along! If you would like to play, here's how: tell me by leaving a comment on this post, and I will assign you a letter. Then post ten things you love that begin with your assigned letter on your blog. Explain the rules with your ten things and when others comment requesting a letter, assign one to them; thus, the chain continues.

Maggie assigned me the letter 'T'. Here are ten things that I love that start with the letter T!

1. Tigger! Yes, for real, I love Tigger!
2. Themes! I love decor, especially photo or home decor in themes! My favorite is Italian Wine/Cafe... I did live in Europe for 8 years!

3.Traveling! Anywhere, Everywhere, Period... I grew up traveling with my family, and now get to travel with my family.

4. Traditions! I am huge on traditions, weather it be holiday or family traditions I am big on them!

It is our tradition to get photographs everywhere we travel, noone likes this but me...

5. "T" I love the nickname T. I tend to nickname everyone but she is named after someone who is so special, my Aunt Pamela Jo, and when my aunt asked what we were nicknaming her I told her "T" Aunt Pam loved it!

6. Testimony: The Lord, My Savior.. The Cross... My faith, all of these things are important to me!
7.Texting! I know, I know but I do, it has made the hugest differance for the boys, Kevin and I, nevermind my family and friends!
8. Thoughts: Aka To Share, To Read, To Blog! :)

9. Two is better than One...!

10. My Favorite T is.... Team Cooper of course!

Girls First "Sleep Over"

The boys are always getting to either go to or have sleepovers and the girls want to do one too. So after we went out for dinner and a movie for my birthday (we took them all to see Madagascar 2) Kevin told the girls they could have a sleepover in the game room. Needless to say however, they kept waking up and talking and for the first time in 7 months needed a nap today... Come to think of it, I guess it's just like a real sleepover after all! :)

Our Decision Maker

I have been meaning to blog this and keep forgetting, Kevin and the boys favorite way to decide any and everything is Rock, Paper, Scissors, to the point where the girls even know what it is and do it! I keep thinking to myself, Give Me A Break! Well last night Dave needed the check book for 2 art classes at school and some safety pins. He and Kevin did the decision process of 2 out of 3, Dave lost and had to go get the items from the van... This morning the van battery was dead, because Dave hit the wrong button therefore leaving all the lights on all night, I told Kevin see aren't you glad you "won"! Dorks!

PlayHouse Disney Live!

This was the image you got to pay for and take right before the show...

We took the ladies today (finally) to see PlayHouse Disney Live... They were so excited! They had a good time and really enjoyed watching all their favorites! It was neat that they knew who everyone and every song was! Now that being said, they were so upset that Daisy was not there.... Poor girls, they know she is on the show! I bought their shirts, dog and Minnie at the Disney store prior to us going and I am happy I did, the stuff at the show itself was very high priced!
Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My friends Tigger and Pooh were the main attractions! :)

My Caring Aspen...

This morning the girls were watching Air Bud on the Disney channel yet again.... towards the end of the movie I hear sniffling..

"Aspen, what's wrong?"
"Oh, Mama it is so sad, the boy he is sad because that ugly man took Buddy"
"Are you crying? Oh honey, it's ok it's just a movie remember"
"I know, Mama but it is so sad..." she has tears in her eyes!
"What happens at the end of the movie? Josh gets Buddy back right?"
"Yes, he does and that makes me so happy"
two minutes later
"Aspen are you ok?"
"yes, mama but I don't like that ugly guy...he really is ugly mama"

Stroller Parking

For Christmas the ladies got Triplet babies, matching buggies, and along time ago, my friend Angela got them blankets, with their color of Care Bear (A: Yellow, P: Pink, T: Purple) with their names on the bottom! Anyhow, their favorite new thing is to park the strollers in my hallway/entry way. I love watching them play....fight not so much, but playing nice is good! :)

Dave's 15 year gift...

Well as you know Dave just turned 15. For 3 years he has been asking to get both his ears pierced, just like Uncle Virgil and Uncle Jeff. While I will admit I was not on board at first, you have to pick your battles, and wellll Kevin and I both after much discussion thought honestly if it's the worse thing he wants at 15, after waiting for 3 years, well then so be it. I will say he looks better than we thought he would! We did his 15 year session today as well, check it out at Jody Cooper Photography Blog.

Team Cooper has a New "Family" Member

At church every first Sunday is Missions Sunday, we usually give $25.00 a month to missions, and to be honest the church then sends it to whoever, or whatever country needs it. Kevin and I are ok with this, but every January we redo our commitment for the year. This year we choose to do our Missions Offering of $30.00 a month to a particular child.
So meet Sweety, she is 4 1/2 and I have to tell you, that she does more in her little life and day than my kids do! :) We sat there in church, and looked at a couple profiles, and when we ran across hers I said "Oh Carlos, look at her, she is adorable!" We should do her, but I had to let him pray about it, we had to decide to do it together.
By the end of the service, I was already on board, but I didn't want to push Kevin, I was so excited when he leaned over with the pen to have me fill out her papers! :)

The $30.00 is for her food, schooling, clothes and medical needs. Then once a month we get to send her letters, pictures, little things such as postcards, crafts, stickers, finger puppets, school supplies, hair pretties, small maps, and jewelry. They have to be small enough for a 9x11 envelope and only like 1 inch thick. We are really excited about the lesson for our children, and in our own lives. Anyhow, we will list any letters, photos or news on our newest member, as we are set for now to sponsor her for 4-5 years, the length of her schooling there.

The Ladies....

Today before church we had a few minutes, and the girls were so excited "Mama, we need to show Nana and Papa our new stuff" They were wearing new dresses, New Shoes, New Hair Pretties, New Braclets and New Lacy Socks! Every little girl needs to have those! So I thought I would attempt to capture them.... To view the artist image, visit my photography blog! :)

In Memory of Susan....

My poor Broc, his teddy bear hamster Suzy, who even got mentioned in our annual Christmas letter died yesterday. My son is devastated, and so are the girls. Suzy was Broc's "Big" gift for Christmas last year, and needless to say he loves her so.
We buried her with her special blanket (a hand ker chief) that Broc got her. He is so upset.... it is hard as his parent to watch him go through this.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Today is Dave's 15th Birthday! Can you believe it? Us either! But then again that is what we said 15 years ago.... let me take you back.

Well I'll actually take you back a tad bit further.... In Sept of 1993, I worked as a Supervisor at KFC, I fell one night at work and hit my head on the drive thru window, forcing me to the ER. Thankfully Kevin and I were engaged at the time so he went with me, instead of my parents. While at the ER they had to ask a series of questions including "Ms. Ruiz, is there a chance you are pregnant?" I hope not my parents would kill me was my response. Well do you have sex? said the doctor Ummm yeah (as we both turn bright red at the question) Well then we need to do a blood test, because you will have no tests done until we know....
1 hour later
"Ms. Ruiz do you like boys or girls?"
"Um, boys (obviously) why?"
"Because you are going to have one in 9 months!"

Oh did I forget the best part.... I was 17 and a Senior in High School. Kevin was 19! oh yea.... and my parents, welllll My Dad is a pastor, my mom the pastors wife! I could have died! So we warn Virgil (14) and Sara (11) and tell them first that we are gonna tell mom and dad tonight so they can leave the room, or city whichever they felt was better! :)
The following night at my parents house here is the conversation
"Jill, (my mom) Jode and I need to talk to you and Dave" Kevin says
" Why? What? If she is pregnant (turns to me) you better go get your Dad"
I walk out of the room.... to get my Dad!
Ok my poor parents, while I sound harsh on them, Can you imagine what it would be like for your teenage daughter to tell you she is pregnant. I look at Dave now, and think I would have killed me! :)

Ok back to my story, We moved our wedding date up from May 28, 1994 to Sept. 19, 1993. My bridesmaids, family and friends sat at my parents dining room table to "cream out" (white out with color) my wedding invitations. I will say because we were already engaged and had been since February, we had bought quite a bit of stuff so that was nice... in a interesting situation.

Now 15 years ago, I am in my kitchen in our studio apartment and all the sudden there is water everywhere! I mean everywhere... Kevin says' Jody, don't just stand there, go to the bathroom! Um hello stupid It's not pee, I think my water just broke! So we call my mom, and check this out speed, run red lights you name it to get to base, after all the baby was going to be born any minute right??
We had been to ONE, count that one Lamaze class. And Dave was 6+ weeks early... The AF doesn't send you to those classes until later in your pregnancy. So here we are in the hospital and yeahhhh he's not coming anytime soon. I am scared to death of needles, still am to this day, so I did 31 hours of labor in that hospital all natural! My parents and Kevin were there the whole time, Sara and Virgil I think came and went.
Finally at 5:32 P.M. January 16, 1994 David Alexander Cooper was born, breech, butt first! I will never forget the feeling I got when I held him for the first time! All 6 of my kids are my babies, and I will never favor, but there is something about the first time to be a mom!

Because of my age and due to him being so premature, we had to stay at the hospital for 10 days! My parents came every day, 2-3 times a day, Virgil and Sara came, it was awesome! I had to call school and tell the secretary that I was missing finals, I had a baby! Ohhhhh my huh!

We get asked all the time about being such young parents, and I will say this, I grew up, Kevin grew up, I am not sure we should have gotten married as young as we did. But I do know this, Neither of us would ever change, when and where we had Dave! He is so awesome (as are the other 5) I missed my Senior year, I missed Prom, I passed my Senior year and no not barely, I worked my butt off that year and most of the time did Dave by myself (with Sara's help) because at the time Kevin worked a 4 days gone, 4 days home shift! While I do not want my kids to ever go through what Kevin and I have, the one thing we would never change is him! :)

Davey, as we all called him, took this the day after I graduated from High School!

First Day Of Kindergarten, Spangdahlem Germany He was now to be called David

First Prom, 2006

Our Son, the band nerd... but he is actually pretty good! :)
My poor son! He misses his friends from Germany so bad! You know the kid you always hear about that has friends of all kinds, that is Dave!

Dave's Breakfast Burrito!

Dave likes to be in the kitchen, and for the most part he does a pretty good job. There are things he is still working on, but he can make a mean Breakfast Burrito! I think he has a knack for the kitchen, but culinary arts was an added plus I am sure to his schedule! While we miss living you know where, I am impressed with the classes the High School offers here!

Heath's Art Work

Heath drew the girls on the sidewalk, and while he was proud of his art work, so were the girls!
They each called me outside to see what Heathy had made them!

Family Photo...

I realize this is almost a month too late, but thought I would share it anyhow. Kevin's bosses wife is who took it, I always love to see someone elses view of Team Cooper :)
